Have you ever tried a four-handed massage? I’ve had many with varying results. When two practitioners are working in synchronicity the effect is sublime.
You lose track of the hands moving over your body as the conscious mind enters into a state of bliss. However, I’ve had several experiences where the four hands weren’t working in conjunction. The usual experience involves one therapist on the upper body and the second on the lower body.
One of the therapists may be using stronger pressure or moving at a different tempo. I felt like I was watching a tennis match, my attention was bouncing back and forth between the two practitioners. My mind struggled to relax and therefore my body couldn’t relax, making me regret my choice of massage.
